AMS Auth — Privacy Policy

AMS Auth is a two-factor authentication (2FA) app from AMS IT Solutions, Inc. ("AMS", "we", "us", or "our"). It generates the time-based one-time codes (TOTP) you use to sign in to AMS accounts. We built AMS Auth to be private by design: it does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information. Everything the app needs stays on your device.
1. Information We Collect
None. AMS Auth has no accounts, no sign-up, and no login of its own. We do not collect analytics, advertising identifiers, location, or usage tracking, and the app does not send your data to AMS or any third party.
2. Data Stored On Your Device
- Authentication secrets. When you add an account, the app stores that account’s secret key locally in your device’s encrypted secure storage. These keys are used only to generate 2FA codes on your device. They never leave your device and are never sent to us or anyone else.
- Camera (QR scanning). The app uses your camera only to scan the QR code shown when you add an account. The camera image is processed on your device in real time to read the code — it is not stored, saved, or transmitted.
3. Network Use
Generating 2FA codes works entirely offline. AMS Auth does not require an internet connection to function and does not upload your accounts or secrets anywhere.
4. Sharing
Because AMS Auth collects no personal data and stores everything locally, there is nothing for us to sell, share, or disclose.
5. Security
Your secret keys are held in your device’s secure storage and protected by your device passcode or biometrics. Because the keys are only on your device, keep your device secure and backed up — if you erase or lose the device, you will need to re-add your accounts.
6. Children
AMS Auth is a security tool and is not directed to children under 13.
